About Samantha Denman

I’ve always been that friend with the camera, even before they came on all of our phones. I’ve loved the joy and honor of capturing a moment forever since then. I took a photo class in high school at GRCC and never knew that it would lead me to this point.

I owe the majority of my “photo career” to the mentorship of Apaige Photography. She took me under her wing and has taught me a ton about how to be genuine with clients. I’ve learned that to be the best photographer you need to be no one but your genuine self. Being a photographer means being invited into the most exciting, intimate, and important events in someone’s life. There is no room for uncomfortable masks. This is the best way to genuinely capture the emotion of a moment, to be fully in it.

I truly found my calling and took this gig full time when I realized I could help small businesses grow and support the dreams of others. I spent years in marketing and advertising (and have my bachelors in it from GVSU) and realized I could use that knowledge to help my photo clients in the commercial and retail world. I shoot for your vision not mine. The goal is to promote your brand, not mine, and I take that very seriously. That means I’m always open to growing and feedback and working with your brand expectations.

I spend most of my weekends and evenings documenting local “influencer events” and dancing with my camera in one hand, and a fancy cocktail in the other. I love meeting new people, and as an extrovert by nature, the energy of others is contagious to me. I love getting on board with your dreams and goals and supporting them in whatever way I can.

When it comes to weddings, all my experience with Apaige Photography allows me to have the day of experience of a seasoned veteran, and the pricing of someone who is just getting in to weddings. I love the opportunity to be creative that weddings bring. Flowing dresses and a chance of glitter? Sign me up!

On the more personal side. I’m a self-diagnosed workaholic, who has a very hard time saying no to an opportunity (or your session). I have a husband, and a cute 100 year old house, and two cats that I treat like humans. I can out binge anyone when it comes to Netflix, and I love cool weather.

I look forward to getting to know every single person I encounter in my photography business, including you.
